So the URL for the rtsp stream does make a difference...

I tried:

rtsp://admin:[email protected][IP ADDRESS] - works - 1280x720 stream video only

rtsp://admin:[email protected][IP ADDRESS]/onvif1 - 1280x720 stream video only

rtsp://admin:[email protected][IP ADDRESS]/onvif2 -  1280x720 stream video only

it seems you can change onvif1 to onvif2 onvif3 etc. and still get the same.. BUT:

rtsp://admin:[email protected][IP ADDRESS]/0/av0 - 1280x720 video PLUS a mono PCM audio stream !!

rtsp://admin:[email protected][IP ADDRESS]/0/av1 -  640x360 video PLUS a mono PCM audio stream !!

av3 av4all give the same 640x360 with audio

No why exactly would Digoo want to hide this useful info from their users? Maybe they consider that they would like to make all their money from the cloud storage service?

username admin and password gd20160404 work in VLC for me - use the stream URLs described inmy post above.

If this does not work in VLC then the only possibility is that a newpassord has been set in the firmware by Digoo.

This would not surprise me - this company seems to regard security as a bit of a joke and this would be a new twist in their funny story.

In my ideal world, Digoo would issue new firmware for their cameras with user programmable security - with open source code so we could all check there were no back doors. Digoo would sell millions of such a device - and become famous for good products. I can dream.

Until things change, stay safe everyone and keep these cameras securely isolatedand away from your main networks.

Hi

I did read a lot. But I'm still not able to activate onvif(without owning an NVR) to use the MYQ on my Synology.

How can I activate onvif?

Michael

#DerRose:

Hi,

In case you are still stuck on this, thought I would throw in my 2 cents.  I ordered one of these MYQ cameras from Banggood not too long ago, and I could not get ONVIF working at all, no matter what I tried from the suggestions in this forum.  Scouring the internet, and scanning the ports on the camera, I discovered that ONVIF support was disabled by default.  Therefore, I used telnet to go into the /home directory on the camera, and there I found a file called "hwcfg.ini".  In that file, you need to add "support_onvif = 1" if there is no entry already.  Also, you can set your password here with "passwd = whatever".  After that, your camera software should discover the camera, and you should be able to set it up with your IP and password.  For reference, I found the info here:  https://github.com/ant-thomas/zsgx1hacks/issues/104

Good luck.
